Is the pool heated?
No, the private pool is not heated, but it is yours to use at any time during your stay. It was freshly refurbished for warm Algarve days and sits beside the pool terrace and orchard garden. A local contact who looks after the pool will call by during your stay.
Is the pool fenced?
No. The private pool at Villa Monchique is not fenced. It sits beside the pool terrace and the orchard garden. If you would like to know more about the pool area before you book, email stay@villamonchique.com or send an enquiry through the contact page.
Does the villa have air conditioning and Wi-Fi?
Yes. There is air conditioning in the living and dining room and in all four bedrooms. Free Wi-Fi is included in every stay and works well, including for streaming. The open-plan living area, which flows out to the pool terrace, also has a wood-burning fireplace and comfortable seating for the whole group.
Do I need a car?
Yes, a car is needed. The villa has a secure gate and sits on a quiet cul-de-sac inland of Portimão, away from the busier parts of the coast, and Portimão is about 15 minutes' drive away. Faro Airport is approximately 45 minutes away via the A22 motorway. Free parking for at least two cars is included, plus parking on the quiet road.
How far is the nearest beach?
Several beaches are within 15 to 30 minutes' drive of the villa. Portimão has some of the region's finest beaches, including Praia da Rocha with its dramatic cliffs and wide sandy beach beside Portimão Marina. Boat tours to the Benagil sea caves, dolphin-watching trips and water sports at Praia da Rocha are all a short drive away.
What is provided during my stay?
Bed linen, towels and pool towels are all provided, along with free Wi-Fi and free parking for at least two cars. The bespoke kitchen is fully equipped for family cooking. There is no cleaner during your stay, but a final clean is included in every booking.
How do I get the keys?
The keys are left in a keysafe at the villa, so you can let yourself in when you arrive. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 11am. A local contact who looks after the pool will call by during your stay.
Can I book directly?
Yes. You can book directly by emailing stay@villamonchique.com or by sending an enquiry through the contact page. For direct bookings, a 20% non-refundable deposit confirms the booking, the balance is due no later than five days before arrival, and payment is by bank transfer.
Are pets allowed, and is there a deposit?
Pets are not allowed at Villa Monchique. There is no security or damage deposit on top of the 20% non-refundable deposit that confirms a direct booking.
Is the villa suitable for young children?
